Description
Features:
- Quick-Lock handle design lets you add or remove plates with just a partial turn of the locking screws! US Patent 7,182,716
Adjust from 5-45 lbs each in 2.5 lb increments in just seconds. (45 lbs each dumbbell = 90 lbs total) - Change weights on any flat surface. The Dumbbell Stand is not included but is available separately.
- Set includes two handles with four locking screws, 12 ea. 5 lb plates and 4 ea. 2.5 lb plates. Handles weigh 5 lbs empty and each locking screw weighs 2.5 lbs so the starting weight is 10 lbs each dumbbell before plates are added. 35 lbs of plates can be loaded on each handle.
- Dumbbells lock up tight with no rattling or looseness. They feel just like traditional fixed weight dumbbells and are not restrictive in the ways you can grip them.
- Chrome plated steel handles with diamond knurled grips.
- Heavy Duty - go ahead and drop them. No plastic or fragile parts!
- Lifetime warranty!
- Add-on kits available to expand the set to 75lbs each or go all the way up to 120 lbs each dumbbell.
- Dumbbell dimensions are just 6.7" square x 11.5" long at the 45lb size and just 9" long at 20lbs size. Handle grip diameter is 1.25" and there is 6.5" grip width inside.
- The weight plates are marked in both LBS and KGS.
We've had a lot of questions about upgrading to heavier weights in the future so we now offer an upgrade weight kit. The dumbbell handles and locking screws are the same parts as the 75 lb set so you can add more weight to the 45 lb set if you need it. Add up to 30 lbs per dumbbell with the standard included handles and locking screws. You can find the upgrade kit here: 75 lb Upgrade Kit
You can also get the 120 lb add on kit to use with this 45 lb set. The 120 lb add on kit comes with 4 of the 22.5 lb plates and 4 longer locking screws. If you put on the 22.5 lb plates on the handles, it will be 55 lbs total dumbbell weight. Then you can add the smaller plates to get up to 90 lbs total. Of course, if you add some 5 lb plates to get up to 75 lbs first then the 120 lb add on kit will take you all the way up to 120 lbs total.

I am only a few weeks into IM dumbell ownership. The build quality on the IM dumbbells is the best of all sets I have had including my current NordickTrack 55lb set which are mostly plastic with metal knurled handles. In contrast, these are just pure solid metal which I love including the metal knurled handles. Garage Gym Reviews said the handles are slightly longer than others, but I have never thought that once. One must be careful using these dumbbells due to their solid build as stated. Regarding chest fly’s or similar exercises, I love the square shape allowing for the right and left to come together nicely.
When it comes to needing to switch weights quickly, I have been going to my NordickTracks because change time is too laborious for me with the IMs. So far I keep my heaviest weight set on my IMs and grab them when that need presents, such as for chest press. I should add I did get the circular micro 1.25 lb plates which allow for 2.5 lb increments which I find a great ability when 5 lb jumps are just too much and you want a little more push.
I keep these IMs on the Titan stand I got from Amazon which I prefer to the IM stand. I thought the Pro Stand, while quite nice and portable, was just way too expensive.
My interest in IronMaster arose out of a need for an improved adjustable dumbbell. Since then, I have literally recently transformed my gym into an IM ecosystem with the cable tower, the pro bench v2 with many attachments, and I’m now considering the IM2000 as I would love a dedicated peck deck.
I can’t say enough good things about these dumbbells. While pricey, they are worth it in my opinion and will last forever if cared for nicely.

These are durable and easy to put together. The quick lock system really does cut down on time. They’re faster to switch weight than “smart” adjustable dumbbells I’ve bought in the past. They’re easy to grip with the knurling and overall maintain a normal “dumbbell feel.” They’re considerably less bulky than competitors, which is nice.
Note From Store Owner: Thanks, Amie, for the great review!

Overall, I am very happy with my Ironmaster dumbbells. I highly recommend Ironmaster dumbbells to anyone looking for a high-quality set of dumbbells.
One of the things I love most about Ironmaster dumbbells is that they are so accurate in weight. I have used other dumbbells in the past that were not as accurate, and it could be frustrating when I was trying to lift a specific weight. With Ironmaster dumbbells, I can be confident that I am lifting the weight that I am supposed to be lifting.
Another great thing about Ironmaster dumbbells is that they take up very little space. I live in a small apartment, so it is important for me to have exercise equipment that doesn't take up a lot of room. Ironmaster dumbbells are very compact and can be easily stored away when they are not in use.
I am also excited to use other items in the Quick-Lock ecosystem. Quick-Lock is a system that allows you to quickly and easily change the weight of your dumbbells. This is a great feature for people who like to do a variety of exercises with different weights. I am particularly interested in using the Quick-Lock kettlebell attachment.

After doing a lot of research, I chose ironmasters adjustable dumbbells with the heavy handle kit. I love that these feel like real dumbbells and not baby them. I also love that they can grow with me as they are expandable. Knurling is excellent. I suggest buying the heavy hand kit as it will make the balance great. I love them so much that I am bringing this overseas when I move. These will last a lifetime and more!!!!

Having worked with both bowflex adjustables and powerblocks extensively and ending up getting rid of both sets. And after working with these I know that I won’t be getting rid of them. Sure the bowflex were fast to switch weight amount if you need to increase or decrease quickly, but they’re awkward, limiting to range of movement, and are cumbersome (both ends extend too far out). Powerblocks feel they’re going to fall apart with swinging or explosive movement (bowflex rattles and feels like it can’t take a hit so you can’t get too savage) and the restricted hand and wrist thing takes some getting used to. Also the powerblocks are a bit limited in positioning as well (ie placing them on your shoulders for squats or strapping them to your shoe for leg exercises). Powerblocks aren’t as good for people with bigger hands too, but are still better than the bowflex because they allow more range of motion. Ironmasters are better at all of the above and much more durable. They sacrifice weight swapping speed but feel as solid as a solid dumbbell while saving a lot more space. Highly recommend.

Great product, from a great company. I had to wait for them to come back in stock, since they're so popular, they were definitely worth the wait. I can't imagine them ever breaking without bad intentions and tools that i don't have or know how to use. Their customer service is great as well, in my experience they go out of their way to satisfy customers. If you hope to one day lift pretty heavy with dumbbells, there are none that come close to these.

These look and feel great and I have no doubt they will last forever. However, the quick lock system isn't fast enough to use during HIIT circuit training if you want to use different weights for different exercises. Not sure what I'm going to do about that yet

I have used Bowflex dumbbells for a couple of years and have been underwhelmed. They are bulky and fragile, having broken pieces off a couple of times without serious abuse. In a search of more durable dumbbells I came upon these and several other brands. What convinced me to try Ironmaster was the fact that everything was steel, no plastic parts. These do not disappoint. They are sturdy, compact, and feel great in the hand. I heartily recommend these dumbbells and am sure they will last a lot longer than me!
Note From Store Owner: Thank you, Matt!

I've been wanting a pair of these for 20 years and finally got them in 2022... man I wish I would have had these sooner! They are fantastic, heavy duty and of great quality. I really like working out with these. I can't wait to get an extra set of handles so I can have two different sets at a time.
Brad (Chazy, NY) | January 24th, 2023
There were out of stock a couple of times when I tried to order them, but it was well worth the wait. They are solid, great quality, and very easy to change weights. I also like the fact that I can get an expansion kit, if I want one. Amazing stuff and they shipped out the next day!

Great addition to my shed gym with limited space. Affordable, compact and feels like normal dumbbells. After researching many other adjustable dumbbells, these were optimal for my space and workout routine. Even if I had the space, they replace thousands of pounds of weights.

I own the PB Sport EXP 90 with aftermarket Stainless steel knurled handles from average joe and purchased these on black friday 2022 with the 75lb expansion and heavy handle kit. This means my IMs go up to 90lbs. So now I have two adjustable DB's that go to 90lbs. Redundant? Yes, read on
Ultimately the decision between these and the powerblocks come down to feel vs convenience. Some people will argue the IMs take too long to adjust. I will completely disagree with this.
Guys, if you can adjust the weights on a barbell, you can do this too, and its even easier. Its faster because unlike a 25lb, 45lb plate for a barbell, these are only 5lbs plates that are even easier to handle and load onto the handles. I can't believe people actually complain these take too much time to load. For those who complain, "but but but the drop sets!!", listen fool just add or remove one plate from one side, adjust your grip to center/balance the dumbbell, and lift.
I wish I had just purchased these instead of the powerblocks, although I did score them locally for a good deal. For me, the user experience / feel of using these dumbbells make this an easy decision. Thanks IM for offering First responder / Military discounts, unlike other brands that offer adjustable dumbbells.
I will be looking forward to purchasing the expansion kit, hopefully before inflation takes its toll and raises the price higher.
Of note, I opted out of the IM stand because for me it wasn't a good enough value. I use some cheap ikea side table that I got for free and reinforced it with wood glue and a few screws and it works perfectly for holding the weights.
There are plenty of videos on YT that cover the details about this. I will say that I think the whole, "time to adjust the weights" are completely overstated, in my honest opinion.
If I had to say a con, I would say that I sincerely wish the knurling was more aggressive. The average joe stainless steel handles are comparable to the Rogue ohio power bar / Texas power bar/ Eleiko competition weightlifting bar. It bites hard and I love it. These are relatively more passive, but do have a good knurl. Its a personal preference, but I do wish they bit harder but thats subjective. Overall, 10/10 would buy again. I will never ever get rid of my IM dumbbells. As a former Olympic Weightlifter who used to be solely a "barbell only" purist, I will take these with me wherever I go. My favorite gym equipment, and my best home gym purchase
Additionally, I wish the plates were weighed truly what was listed on the cast iron plates. Some of the plates are lighter than advertised, which is disappointing.

First - Customer Service, Awesome! I called to talk to a representative about what I should be looking for when ordering and what would satisfy my needs. We spoke for about 15 minutes about my options, came to a conclusion to which I put my name on the wait list.
Wait List - Great that there is a notification of when available, did not have to keep checking back daily for stock. Was notified when back in stock and guess what, I went to the website and was able to order. I would say the wait list speaks for the demand of this product as well.
Value - I do not think these will break in the next 100 years. Maybe if you leave them outside but if you are doing that you should expect that.
Shipping - Great solution to weight shipping. Each box was 30 pounds, so yes I received umpteen boxes but it makes it easier on the shipper which in turn makes it more likely to arrive undamaged. I have ordered other weightlifting equipment and the boxes come destroyed and pieces inside are usually broken requiring a replacement before you can use the equipment.
Now to the ease of use - Great design, I like the quicklock solution so as not to have to screw the threaded end in for the next 2 minutes, instead it takes me about 10 seconds per side depending on how many plates I am throwing on. Very sturdy when using as well. I do not feel any looseness and I definitely do not feel like the weights are going to just fall off mid workout. I am not a dropset/superset guy so the time to change plates does not bother me at all. For someone that is, you could potentially order a second set of handles for quicker switching. Expandability is fantastic as well, yes you pay for everything extra but the fact that these things go up so high beats out every quick system out there.
My wife has one negative comment about the size and feel of the knurling on the handles. So if that is something that may bother you, there might be another option out there.
If I think of anything else as I continue to enjoy these I may update my review.

Solid, well made, sit comfortably on the knees between sets of chest presses, and perfect balance. I added the heavy handle set which makes these feel just like the typical gym heavy bells. Once you get used to the "plate math" (handles are 5, quick-locks are 2.5 apiece, heavy handles are 15 for 25lb base weight) it is easy to calculate weights and change them. Less than 60 seconds for both bells.
I also bought the 75lb add-on kit, which with the heavy handles makes these go from 20 to 90lbs. And of course I got the 2.5 micro plates for those plateaus.
Buy them. You won't be disappointed. Neither will your kids, or their kids.

These are reliable, compact, and easy to use. They feel sturdy and safe. I have no complaints. Worth every penny!
JAN (Virginia) | August 11th, 2022
These dumbbells are rock solid with a very old school feel to them along with being a perfect size/balance for most all exercises. Taking an extra couple of seconds to reload the poundage is more than worth using the more popular twist handle adjustables given how much plastic in the mechanisms. I mean I'm not like throwing weights around on the regular but eventually if you are really working hard enough one will crash to the floor eventually and these will NOT break (maybe the floor...haha). Willing to take the chance with another $600 plus set...not for me. Also, luv the expansion options what else could you ask for..??

Simply love these dumbbells. They have a great feel to them. The quick-lock handles work very well, securing the plates tightly, resulting in the feel of a sold block of steel without any parts rattling or moving.

I researched and researched adjustable dumbbells during the pandemic. A few things stand out with these dumbbells. #1 durability: no plastic anywhere, extremely simple yet effective design. #2 Lifetime warranty. #3 Feel of real dumbbells, only get larger when you add more weight. Flat sides to rest on knees. #4 expandable in the future. #5 quicker than spin lock dumbbells. To be clear not as fast as Bowflex or Powerblocks. For my use these have turned out to be the best and I look forward to using them for many years to come. . .

I’m extremely pleased with my Ironmaster purchase, including the ordering process and prompt subsequent customer service to track my order. These replace a set of far lesser 45 ld weights. I considered several alternatives and settled on these thanks to positive reviews and a desire for an adjustable dumbbell that performed during the work out like a non adjustable weight. This is definitely the ticket. Getting the hang of quickly changing the weights happened after a couple of workouts and I now enjoy a set of 75 lb adjustable dumb bells that work like a full set of non adjustable weights. I don’t believe there is a better system on the market.

I was in need of a quality set of adjustable dumbbells to start my home gym. I spent some time researching on-line and watched tonnes of YouTube video reviews. Finally, I decided on these dumbbells. They were like Unicorns when they came in stock and when time and money intersected I ordered them to be shipped to Canada. I am so pleased I took the decision. They arrived at my door with great care and were packaged expertly. I've used them for about a month and they are superior quality, well made and will be a part of my fitness journey for a long time. Thanks Ironmaster, I'll be ordering more stuff again.
Ransley Wong (New York) | June 23rd, 2022
The quality of these dumbbells are great. Very solid, and I like that there are no plastic parts. I moved over from Powerblocks, which served me well for a really long time, but the plastic parts begin to show wear and tear. Switching the weights is noticeably slower, but I would gladly trade the speed for the versatility and durability! So ultimately it depends on what you prioritize in your dumbbells, but these are a pretty solid choice.

I've been a customer for over 20 yrs and again they have the best systems. The dumbbell is the best ever.
Matt McMahon (Stamford, CT) | May 16th, 2022
I've used the rest, and these are the best. Beautiful dumbbells with the look and feel of real dumbbells. Quality, heavy-duty build. While not as fast as competitors for weight changes, they are still quite fast. Like I said, I've used them all, and these are my favorite, hands down. If you can get a pair of these for your home gym, do it. Also less expensive than competitors in the high-end adjustable dumbbell market.

An incredible product. Extremely well-made, weight feels even in your hand and handle has good knurl. Feels like a normal dumbbell with VERY minimal shifting of plates during reps.
Weight changes are a little bit slower than some of the other players in this space (Bowflex, Powerblocka), but I think it is worth it for the quality of construction. Also a huge bonus that you can easily buy additional weight of you ever want to.
Lastly, these dumbbells pair perfectly with the kettlebell handles and other bars (straight bar/EZ bar) to create a great starting point for a home gym.
A really well-made and adaptable product. Huge fan.

Impressive!
These adjustable dumbbells have been recommended to me so many times that I decided it was time to get a pair. This is easily one of the best home gym products I've ever purchased. These dumbbells are so sturdy and incredibly well-made, and take up a fraction of the space a traditional rack would take up. The swapping between weights takes a bit of getting used to but once you get it down it's quite quick. For the price, these are a great deal. You can tell they're basically going to last forever (with some basic wear and tear).
Both myself and my husband are very pleased, and both of us use them. Bravo!
