I really like these. The dumbbells themselves work very, VERY well and are expandable substantially higher than I intend on lifting. I'm getting faster as weight changes, but trust these way more than competitor's adjustibles.
That said, cosmetically my set was nowhere near flawless. I inspected the screws for quite a while as I saw some pitting and questionable areas that were likely welded. Not exactly what you want to see on a load bearing part. They seem to be holding up fine though.
The only cons I have for these are the system price. I don't really mind the cost of the 75s, but I'll really hesitate to buy the expansions at their current price.

Had a set of Gold's Gym adjustable dumbbells that broke, did research on all the options out there, SMRTFT and the all metal Trulap, but I was nervous about all the moving parts, and limited amount of weight capacity - I also like to drop weights after using them - with the Ironmaster dumbbels you sacrifice cool twist handle ease for more durability. It takes a few seconds to change weights but once they're locked in they're tight, and I like the shiny metal and black plate contrast - definitely glad I purchased and am looking forward to having to add additional weights!

I debated between these and a faster adjustable dumbbell for awhile. After deciding that I would rather have something more durable I got these bad Larry’s. I feel like if I threw these things off the roof they would dent the concrete. Changing weights isn’t the fastest so super setting a drop set isn’t viable but you can change all 4 sides just over a minute.
TLDR : Durable AF

Note From Store Owner: Hi Anthony, Thanks for the review and comments. Check out our demos on YouTube for wt chgs too. The owner/inventor Matt can change all 4 sides in 17 seconds! A drop set can be achieved even more quickly by removing 2.5 lbs from only one side, cutting your change times down even further. Thanks again. Enjoy! -Team Ironmaster

I spent a lot of time researching and watching reviews of all sorts of adjustable dumbbells. I my opinion these blow the competition out of the water. Changing weights is easy. Absolutely love the fact they can be expanded to over 150lbs. The sky is the limit with Ironmaster. I will recommend these to anyone

Looking at numerous other options on the market place and owning others this is a buy once and done product!!!! A little slower adjusting the weight compared to others, but there is never a worry of something breaking and making them unusable!

I love these adjustable dumbbells! You can tell the quality is long lasting. My favorite thing is the knurling

After researching all different adjustable dumbells I wanted ones that would last a lifetime. And after using these for the past 3 months I have no doubt these iron masters may even outlast me.
You get used to changing the plates and I would gladly take an extra 10-15 seconds changing plates, then buying a more complicated adjustable dumbbell that may break.

I was choosing between Rep/Peppins and the Ironmaster. Since Reppins were on backorder until September, I've decided to go with the QLAD. I love the quality, knurling, and feel of a regular dumbbell. I have big hands, so unlike many users, I actually prefer the longer grip. Changing the weights is extremely easy. HOWEVER, it's not instant and can take 30-60 seconds. That works for my style of workouts. I've also purchased the add-on kit for 120, and the kettlebell. Phenomenal versatility. I am thrilled with the purchase and love using this set!

We just moved into our first house and are fitting out our home gym - these are perfect space savers that give us a ton of options without having to have a giant dumbbell rack. My husband and I did a bunch of research on brands (Nuobell, Powerblock, Bowflex, etc.) and the Ironmaster seemed like the best long-term investment since they are literally just plates and screws - very unlikely that there's anything that can break if we do drop sets.
It did take me a couple of days to get used to swapping out the weights (initially my husband tightened them so much I really had to use some force to unscrew them), but now I can do it without thinking. The plate range is great for everything we need (that we wouldn't use a barbell for - eventually I do want to get a barbell and a squat rack for heavier lifts, but for now single leg work with these is where it's at!).
The *only* complaint I have of these is the square plates and handle width are really awkward for single leg glute bridges or hip thrusts (they are too narrow to balance across a single thigh, and too "pointy" to comfortably sit across both hips if I'm trying to center them on my legs). They're slightly less awkward for regular glute bridges, but aren't heavy enough to be a challenge (which is why I prefer SL hip thrusts if all I have is dumbbells). That's a pretty niche use case, but it's something that drives me crazy every workout. Eventually when we upgrade to a barbell that won't be a problem!

Theses dumbbells are bullet proof and very easy to use, makes me wish i had of made this purchase years ago and saved all that gym money

I just received my dumbbells last week, and I couldn't be happier with them. I did a lot of research, and these have exceeded my expectations on feel and quality. After several workouts, these have worked great in my wide range of dumbbell exercises, they are compact and solid, the grip and knurling is great, and I feel totally safe with these over my face in pressing exercises. I got the 75 lb. set, the heavy handle plate kit (takes set to 90 lb. each), and the micro plates. After two workouts, I am able to change the weights pretty quickly. The whole system is fantastic, and I highly recommend it the Quick Lock Dumbbells.

Longer review, but all good stuff here.
After a month of using these dumbbells along with the heavy handle kit, 120 lb. expansion kit with longer quick lock screws, and the kettlebell I have no complaints over the functionality and quality. You are getting what you pay for here and the price lines up with some solid iron that feels secure in your hands and will last throughout your lifting career. The quick lock system, especially with the longer screws for heavier weights (which I do opt to use on anything over 80 lbs.) give the dumbbell a secure feel. I do not worry about weights slipping or jiggling.
I had an issue with my UPS delivery. Basically I had 11 boxes come at once and UPS missed the 11th one. After some time trying to solve the issue with UPS I contacted IM staff and they sent the contents of the 11th box (IM banner) within a few days. No extra charge. Quick response and am happy with the outcome.
I did not buy one of the iron master stands. I did read some reviews, looked at the designs, and instead brainstormed to build one myself. I used some plywood, 4x4's, 2x4's, and dowel rods to make a larger dumbbell stand to hold everything along with space for extra weight lifting equipment. Hanging the dumbbell plates on dowel rods makes loading easier. There is less of a chance of pinching fingers than if plates lay flat for storage and decreases loading time. I even built a wedge on to it so loading the kettlebell could be easier.
Speaking of loading time, it is 40 seconds for me between sets to change my dumbbells on the stand I made. 40 seconds to take quick lock screws out, either take off or add on 1 weight plate per each side of the dumbbell, and put the screws back in all 4 positions. This was timed in the middle of one of my workouts, without me rushing - just my normal pace. I personally rarely do circuit training or any workout where I need varying dumbbell weights in that short of a time. I also have a barbell, EZ curl bar, bands, squat rack, and an upright loadable cable I can use instead for circuit training. If you personally need a dumbbell where you can switch the weights in 5-10 seconds, these dumbbells are not for you. But, if the cushion of 1 minute between sets is no problem, go for it.
Otherwise, after many months of waiting, reading reviews, and watching demonstration videos I am glad I decided on IM DBs for my home gym. This past month of using them in my garage gym has been great.

These are amazing and I am glad I made the purchase. These will provide years of reliable service. Thank you ironmaster for the first responders discount! If you want a set of heavy dumbbells that feel like a real dumbbell, than look no further. I highly recommend to anyone. Quick shipping, and impeccable packaging ensures your investment arrives in immaculate condition.

I've been wanting these dumbells ever since I first saw them last August. When I finally got my hands on them they didn't disappoint. They're just as high quality as I'd hoped. I'm going to get a lot of great workouts in with these bad boys.
Isaac (Colorado) | March 15th, 2024
For $700, I expected a lot from these. My expectations were exceeded, and I've enjoyed using them so far.
I wanted something that felt like a normal dumbbell without the typical clanks and sensation of shifting plates that most adjustables come with.
I wanted something with 5lb adjustable increments.
I wanted something compact (as compact as a 75lb dumbbell can be).
And I wanted something that could survive abuse.
These dumbbells met each of those criteria. They're incredibly sturdy, they look like normal dumbells, the weight plates are (mostly) easy to swap out, the knurling is excellent, and their form factor is perfect.
If I were to do it again, I would still get these. However, I do have one minor gripe - at the max weight capacity, one of the quick locking pins doesn't always seat correctly in its threads, so it won't tighten unless I fiddle around with it for a bit and line the plates up just right. That's something I can learn to deal with though, and it really doesn't impact the use of these.
5/5 for feel
5/5 for durability
4/5 for ease of use
4.5/5 for overall value
Would recommend!

Wow! Wish I had gone this route years ago for heavy durable lifts. These dumbbells are the best when it comes to durability, quality, capacity, and the pics don’t do them justice. These things scream quality and are sharp and don’t mind some rough handling like weights are meant to handle.
Lawrence Morton (Virginia) | February 28th, 2024
They feel very solid. No significant rattling of the plates one secured making them feel very confident for stability during use.
I find it. Easy to change the weights. There are faster systems out there for changing weight but for my needs that's not as necessary and it still very quick to adjust weights. Prior to purchasing, some reviews had talked about the challenge in calculating how many plates to add.
To be honest, the first time using them it took a few extra seconds and by the next workout automatic.
Though I've only had them a short time, they feel very durable. I am pleased with my purchase.

I did a lot or research into adjustable dumbbells. I wanted something that did not take up a lot of space, but also allowed me to go heavy and feel safe doing it. After my research the Ironmaster Dumbbells seemed to fit the bill better than any other adjustable dumbbell set.
When they arrived and I started using them I was surprised how much they feel like fixed weight dumbbells. When you screw the weights in there is no shaking and you feel completely safe even lifting heavy weight, no rattling or anything. The size of the dumbbells is good too. It doesn't feel too big, and with the locking mechanism it has it adds literally no length to the dumbbell.
I was also impressed by how compact they are, the weights don't take up a lot of space and the plates themselves are designed to be stacked, I have a table in my garage that fits all the weights and the dumbbells perfectly.
These weights also seem super durable. Every part is metal, and I seems like the only thing to watch out for is rust, but these weights are going to last forever.
I also love that I can get another set to go up in weight. I started with the 75 lb per dumbbell package, but am already saving up for the 120 lb per dumbbell addition. You could also upgrade to a 165 lb per dumbbell kit, but I'm confident I will probably never need more than 120 lb dumbbells. The gym the past two gyms I've had memberships at one only had dumbbells up to 100 and the other only had dumbbells that go to 110, so with the 120 lb kit I've got more weight than both my previous gyms.
I've been using them for a month and could not be happier. If these hold up Ironmaster might have gained a lifetime supporter!

1- sturdy 2- quick changing or adding plates basically takes little time as in 20-30 seconds a DB. 3- Quick Lock screws are legit and lock in tight no worries bout these screw locks coming out. 4- feel like fixed DBs, they just feel so good lifting. No cheap plastic no rattling. 5- drop them and don’t worry, I don’t really drop mine but I have a few times with heavier weight due to my bad back I prefer to just drop the weight if my back ain’t feeling right and they hold up with zero issues. I can see how anyone would pass on these. Best Adjustable DBs ever made. I wish I got these years ago.

love the feel and ability to grow to the max weight without all the other dumbells, I have limited space at home where I workout.

I got these and the add on kit to create 120lb dumbells for my home gym. These are fantastic dumbells. The grip resembles the knurling of a power bar. They are nice and compact and pretty easy to adjust. They save you a lot of space and money compared to a full out dumbell rack. I would say these are the best adjustable dumbells on the market. The only thing to test is how long they hold up and last. I am assuming that will be a long time as they seem very high quality. Big fan
Phil (Boston) | February 8th, 2024
Made the switch to these from another adjustable dumbbell that only went to 52.5. Was a little hesitant about the Quick-Lock system but have been super happy with it. It's still fast enough to switch between exercises so long as you can do some quick simple math. Overall, very happy with these and love the option to increase the weight later on. Enjoy that the DBs maintain a small size when it's a lower weight. Do agree with others that the coating could be better but for a garage gym piece it doesn't matter.
John (Texas) | January 15th, 2024
There really is nothing else comparable out there in my opinion. The solid feel of a fixed dumbbell but adjustable and droppable.
The only negative is the longer than standard handle, which is necessary because of the locking screws. The heavy handle completely eliminated that awkward feeling for me.

I finally pulled the trigger on purchasing a home gym setup but have limited space in a 2 car garage. These are by far the best adjustable dumbbells on the market, especially if you’re trying to save space. The quality of these is amazing. Don’t have to worry about something breaking if you drop them like almost all other adjustable dumbbells. I also really appreciate the first responder discount. Communications were fast and easy to verify eligibility. Will definitely be buying more from iron master!

Bought these for an update from NordicTrack dumbbells. Though changing weight is a bit harder, I really like the sturdy design of iron master. The longer holding bar needs some getting used to, but overall it has actually is more compact than NordicTrack. Also it gives me the freedom to increase the weight to 95lb. FREEDOM!!!
Steve (Maryland) | December 22nd, 2023
My first set of adjustable dumbbells. Needed to go beyond my static set to have higher weights. No regrets. These are incredibly solid to hold and easy to adjust. I also bought the kettlebell and it is great to be able to interchangeably use the weights. I went all in with the Pro Stand (it was Black Friday). The whole set is very well thought out and will last for a generation or two. I say this from experience. I purchased the IM1000 in the year 2000 and it still looks brand new.

I compared and debated making this purchase forever it feels. As a person who likes to lift heavier dumbbells, THESE are by far the best selection for the money. No regrets and would happily buy them again without question.

I've used a few of the different brands of adjustable dumbbells over the years and never fully liked any of them. They usually have some limitation or oddity that makes them not fun to use, unwieldy, or just slow to change.
Not these. The moment they came in the mail I knew I was gonna like them. Packaged VERY well, super precise machining on everything; they just work great.
One thing that took some time was breaking them in. The screw seemed to be not too stoked to be placed in the hole initially and it required some fine positioning. Now that I've been using them for about a year, they slide right in with a satisfying SHING. Love it. Plus you can increase them to 165 lb when you get there. Hard to go wrong with these bad boys.

When you compare these to any other similar adjustable dumbbells', i think these are the clear winner. They feel great, and i wouldn't hesitate to purchase them again.
